The above text is an example of a narrative genre because its purpose it to tell a story. In this story, the speaker is being forced into work and torn away from his/her family. I interpreted this as a story telling the events of the Holocaust. The audience could be those who want hear a story. More specifically, it could also include those who want to learn about the hardships of others during such times. The rhetorical appeal of pathos is utilized in order to evoke emotion in its readers. The author wants the audience to feel the pain that the speaker was going through at this time. This memoir poem is in the form of a text-based medium and digital mode. The simple colors and plain font allow you to focus on the writing itself without any distractions. The phrases are short and the vocabulary is simple in order to convey the melancholy plot with greater ease. Again, the author wants its readers to feel sympathy towards the victims mentioned in the story. I think that this piece can be adapted into a photo essay by featuring images of the sad and abused individuals being forced against their own free will.
